Presentation Learning Objectives:

  1. To describe how dietitians can get involved in different media platforms to share evidence-based nutrition with the public
  2. To understand how dietitians can use these various platforms to market their practice and gain new clients
  3. To understand how to increase viewers by implementing basic elements of art and design into food photographs shared on these media platforms

Presenters:

Lisa Andrews, MEd, RD, LD
Owner, Sound Bites Nutrition, LLC

Lisa Andrews is the owner of Sound Bites Nutrition and enjoys working with individuals and groups to make eating healthy, fun and enjoyable.  She recently started a line of food pun shirts and note cards. Lisa was the past COPI for GCDA and OAND and serves as the media rep for GCDA She is president-elect for OAND. In 2002, she won the RYDY and RDY in 2017. She is the Founder of People’s Pantry Cincy- neighborhood mini food pantries that serve low income, food desert communities.
  

Catherine Anthony, RDN, LD

Catherine works for Carespring Health Care Management as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She is also passionate about inspiring people to get back in the kitchen by making cooking  healthy, delicious, and simple! She develops recipes, teaches classes, and, provides practical recipes through her Instagram @dinner.made.simple

Angela Funk, RDN, LDN

Angela is currently an Oncology Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for TriHealth Cancer Institute. She is passionate about informing others how to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle through food and exercise. She shares evidence-based knowledge of food and nutrition to those seeking advice to better their health through her Instagram account @devotedly.nutritious

Mary Seguin, Food Stylist

Mary Seguin is a food stylist for feature films, print and video, presenter and culinary instructor.  As a trained artist, visual as well as culinary, Mary’s passion is sharing and educating groups and individuals about “Food Language.” Food Language: food meets the basic elements of art and design.  With this “second language” you can develop an understanding  and ability to prepare and present appetizing and healthful food.
