Motivational Interviewing Workshop
Education alone is not enough to help our clients toward healthier lives. In this interactive workshop we will explore what we can do to make change more likely. This is an interactive workshop with practice in small groups and pairs.
Speaker: Molly Kellogg, RD, LCSW is a nationally recognized expert on health behavior change. Molly is a Registered Dietitian and Psychotherapist in private practice in Philadelphia, PA where she specializes in eating disorders. She is the author of Counseling Tips for Nutrition Therapists: Practice Workbook and trains health professionals around the country. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and served on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Evidence Analysis Library, Nutrition Counseling workgroup.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will:
1. Understand the theory and spirit of motivational interviewing.
2. Practice evidence-based behavioral change skills based on MI.
3. Recognize and address resistance to change.
4. Formulate a plan for further practice and skill enhancement.
*Provides 6 CEU's for RDs and DTRs
*All non-nutrition professionals must apply for their own CE approval
